Good morning! Another rainy day here in Portland. I actually have the day off-something that doesn’t usually happen on Thursdays but there is an event at IDEXX today which means no classes. Surprisingly I also don’t have too much on the to-do list today either! Later this afternoon I have my training class for the competition in January (I’ll have an update on that soon) and then I’m heading to the Muse Paint Bar this evening with my friend.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a playlist that I’ve been using for spin classes lately so It’s about time! I hope you enjoy these new tunes. Is anyone else taking advantage of those new playlists that Spotify makes for you each week? (Discover Spotify Weekly) I love them and it’s where I’ve been getting a lot of my music lately. Ok, maybe they’re not that new… but I’ve just been using them in the last month or so. Such a great resource for instructors that need new music constantly!
I think that this is the only weekend in a while and for a while that there was NOTHING on the schedule. I love the feeling of waking up and being able to do whatever you want with your day! Portland is such a fun city to live in and I’m perfectly happy spending a weekend at home. Saturday included a visit from the cutest boston terrier ever, the sidewalk art festival, shopping and gelato in the old port, and some patio time. Sunday was a little rainier but we made the most out of it by shopping in Freeport (early before the crowds arrived), some lounging, and a yoga class at Greener Postures.
Now it’s Tuesday and I’m spending some quality time making up new workouts and playlists for the week! Here’s some new tunes that I’m going to use for lunchtime cycle at IDEXX yesterday! Enjoy 🙂
Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend. This was my weekend to teach at Quest cycle so I have a playlist to share with you this morning. After teaching Saturday morning it was finally time to relax after teaching a boatload (14!!!) of classes this week. I was able to watch the parade of tall ships on Saturday afternoon at my parents place on the water which was excellent! I Also got to spend some time with my grandparents who were in town for the weekend hanging out, eating good food, drinking good drinks, and petting the cutest dog in the entire world.
And here is your playlist! Have a great week!! 😀
It has been quite some time since I have taught a spin class in Portland on Saturday. Now that winter is in full swing, classes are PACKED and it’s so much fun. The cold temperatures we’re having right now are definitely driving people to work out indoors as well. I think I have run on the treadmill more this winter than I have in any other year- and it’s only January! Here’s a new playlist that I used for class yesterday. Good for cycling, or those boring treadmill runs. 😉
Hello everyone! It’s cold, rainy and gray here in Maine and it doesn’t feel like Christmas weather. The festivities keep rolling despite the weather and that really helps. Last weekend I had a cookie swap at my house with some friends. It was my first year having one and it might have to become a holiday tradition. Everyone brought different cookies, then you try a bunch of cookies, and make an assortment of all the cookies to take home with you. It was fun to see what everyone made. Oh, and there was lots of winter sangria as well. 🙂
Last night I taught this “12 Hills of Christmas” spin workout. I’m teaching again today and will definitely be doing it again. The profile of the ride starts out with some fast sprints before moving on to the hills. Each hill is 1 minute long and they’re all a little bit different (standing, seated, a combo of both). After the climb there’s a fast downhill (aka rest) for 15-20 seconds. Before climbing the next hill we ride on a flat road at a “comfortably hard” pace for about 40 seconds. After the hills there’s another sprinting section. It was a great ride and everyone really enjoyed it! Here is the playlist I used for the ride. Only Christmas songs for warm up and cool down. I can’t recall the last time someone got really motivated to ride fast to “Jingle Bells”….
Another spin class Saturday is in the books! I was extra excited to teach today because the time I spent at the studio this morning meant less time I spent in the yard raking leaves. Now, I exercise quite a bit… but let me tell you I am the LAZIEST person ever when it comes to yard work. I just hate it and love excuses to avoid it. Like teaching spin class. Today’s class was super fun and it’s nice that the colder temps mean that more people are coming to work out inside. It’s so energizing with tons of people packed in on the bikes and it means more money for me. So I really love it. Anyway, here’s a new playlist for you!
Here’s some new music! I’m loving the first song. It reminds me of summer and vacation and all those things that didn’t actually happen today… It’s apparently Ricky Martin but you would never know if I didn’t just say that. I used this playlist in both my spin classes today. My 8:30 class at Quest was rough this morning after my long road ride yesterday. At one point I got off my bike to test out a another bike to see if mine was broken because “it” was going so slow… I don’t think it was broken. Had to check anyway though. At noon time I went to a class at the Y which was AWESOME. Cardio and Strength with Nate. Challenging and fun. If you’re a member and you haven’t tried it, get on it! I spent my afternoon making sushi and then dragged my tired legs to IDEXX to teach my last 5:15 spin class for the summer. I had a great group for that class and I’m going to miss them! Hopefully they’ll decide to come to my noon time class instead. 🙂
I’ve found some awesome new spinning tunes and they’re too good not to share. A few of the songs (the ones by Manian) have been stuck in my head for days now! If you’re looking for some good pump up music, look no further. 🙂
Another full house Saturday spin class at Quest is in the books! It was cold, rainy, and windy this morning so an indoor cycling class was the perfect way to kick off the weekend. After class Angus and I went to Cyclemania to pick up the bike I’m going to test ride tomorrow and then enjoyed some delicious bagels from Union Bagle Company. (Arguably the best bagels in Portland!) Afterwards we headed up to Freeport to do a little shopping and then went for a quick swim at the Y on the way home. Here’s my latest and greatest for spinning tunes. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone!
