Snow Day Workout

Good morning! I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Ours was fabulous and now we’re getting our first snow of the year here! I know many of you are stuck inside and wondering how you will get a workout in. I love skiing or walking in the fresh snow but I know that does not appeal to lots. So here’s a workout that you don’t even have to leave your living room to do. Won’t take too long (about 20 minutes) and then you can go watch movies and drink hot chocolate.(real snow day activities!)

Christmas Around My House

Good morning and happy Christmas Eve! I hope everyone has a fun and relaxing holiday planned with family. Today is turning out to be a busy day for me. In an hour or so I’ll head to the Y to get my workout in and then hang out in the kitchen getting some food ready for Christmas. Also have a fun little fitness activity planned for this afternoon… just wait. Later in the evening we will head to my parent’s condo for a seafood feast.

Today I thought I would share a look at some of my favorite holiday decorations that I have around my house! Merry Christmas, everyone!

Christmas Sugar Cookies

photo 2 copy 5

Happy Friday! This weekend I will be doing some serious baking to get ready for my annual cookie swap party. I have two cookie recipes from my mom that are my absolute favorite and it’s not christmas without them! I remember my freshman year of college when I lived in Minnesota my mom would send me her sugar cookies and they would be gone in a flash! Now, usually I’m all about sharing healthy recipes on this blog but today is an exception. Nothing healthy about these. Just delicious. I hope you enjoy them too!

Balls, Bells, and Boxes Workout

Good morning! It is hard to believe that Christmas is only 9 days away. Naturally it also means that it is time for some themed workouts! This workout you just need a medicine ball (the big cloth ones work the best),  a Kettlebell, and a box! Some of the exercises might be new to you or maybe I just called them something weird so I’ve provided you with a handy little guide of the exercises in this workout. Let me know if you give it a try!

Workout Playlist

Good morning! Another rainy day here in Portland. I actually have the day off-something that doesn’t usually happen on Thursdays but there is an event at IDEXX today which means no classes. Surprisingly I also don’t have too much on the to-do list today either! Later this afternoon I have my training class for the competition in January (I’ll have an update on that soon) and then I’m heading to the Muse Paint Bar this evening with my friend.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a playlist that I’ve been using for spin classes lately so It’s about time! I hope you enjoy these new tunes. Is anyone else taking advantage of those new playlists that Spotify makes for you each week? (Discover Spotify Weekly) I love them and it’s where I’ve been getting a lot of my music lately. Ok, maybe they’re not that new… but I’ve just been using them in the last month or so. Such a great resource for instructors that need new music constantly!
